So I met this guy!!!!Hmmmn!!!!! Just stop wondering about the exclamation marks, the guy deserves it. He is an amazing guy and dancer like that. Watching him dance gets you on a type of high(ladies though), I believe they call it mesmerised and I promise, you'll find yourself wishing that you dance as good as him, at least I sha do.
So obviously meeting Oche Godson Apeh AKA SharpKid was an interesting encounter.
Oche is a happy and fun guy, those type of guys that light up the place whenever they show up. We got talking to Oche and I got to know somethings about him, like the fact that He's Idoma by tribe and hails from Ogbadibo local government, Benue state, Nigeria and He is a student of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna state... I hear the greats come out of here...
This guy is serious about his dance and wants to take it to the next level mehn, no jokes at all. You know what? just read the short interview I had with him below:
WHY DO YOU LIKE DANCING?
I like dancing because dancing makes me happy and it helps me communicate with people..
WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO DANCE?
1st I'll say God almighty, and also the love I have for dance.
THATS COOL. SO HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU PRACTICE DANCE IN A DAY?
In a day I practice dance for at least 2hours in the morning and at night, I dance for at least 1 and half hour. So approximately I give in 3 and half hours to dance everyday unless am preparing for an event.
HMMN, THAT'S GOOD TIMING. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DANCING?
I have been dancing for more than 15 years or better still as far as I can remember.
ALL THOSE HOURS ON ALL THOSE DAYS, IT MUST BE LOVE. SO TELL ME, WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT
DANCE?
I'll say it's the different types of dance, I love it when I see different types of dance been displayed, from the hip-pop to salsa, to contemporary. It's beautiful how diverse dance is. So much room for expression.
WITH ALL THIS PASSION, WHAT HAS DANCE TAUGHT YOU?
Dance has taught me how to love, how to share, and also how to be a better person in life
WHAT WAS THE BEST ROUTINE YOU EVER PERFORMED?

Hmmm. You know every parents would want their child to be a soldier, a banker or an engineer. So my parents actually want me to face my books and be one of those I mentioned but at the same time they are ok with the whole thing...
THAT'S AMAZING FOR OUR AFRICAN PARENTS. SO WITH ALL THIS GREEN LIGHT, WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 5YEARS TIME?
I see myself owning a dance studio with a lot of awards as a dance instructor and a performer
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY ARE THE CHALLENGES OF BEING A DANCER?
There are a lot of challenges involved, one of these challenges is being consistent in the art. A lot of people quit dancing because there say it doesn't pay and most people's challenge is their parents...
ABOUT ALL THIS TALENT, DID YOU INHERIT DANCE OR YOU LEARNT IT?
I inherited it and at the same time I learnt it too. My mum use to be a very good dancer, my dad too. My brothers were always dancing and bringing prizes home when I was a little boy, at that time I knew I could dance too.
HOW DO YOU FIND TIME FOR SCHOOL?
Dance is actually what I love, so I mix both Dance and School and try to balance them out...
HOW DO YOU THINK THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD CONTRIBUTE TO DANCE IN NIGERIA?
They should encourage the dancers, by organising dance shows and competitions and giving out freebies to dancers...
FINALLY, ANY ADVICE FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU?
Hello dancers, don't give up so early!! Stand up do some workout, teach people around you make sure you always have a story to tell in all your dance moves. I assure u, with all these, dance will make you proud.....
